Parapedra Group started in 1979 with Parapedra - Sociedade Transformadora de Pedras, situated in Rio Maior.

Currently, the Group operates in two large business areas: rocks and sands. These materials are extracted and processed by technological modern methods through continuous innovation, with total respect for the environment.
The water extracted together with the raw material, is treated in WWTP’s, and returned to the ponds with the same purity, fulfilling all legal requirements on environment and security. The Group has a maximum daily production of about 18,000 tons, distributed as follows:

• Parapedra 3.000 tons.
• Interbritas 4.800 tons.
• Sifucel/Lusosílica 11,200 tons, in the several production units.

The main customers of the Group’s products are in the business areas of glass, ceramic, cement, cement glue, construction, smelting, asphalt, rubber industry, chemical industry, paints, agricultural industry, feeds, filters for swimming pools, Golf, compact marble industry and other gases.
